My New Year's Resolutions for 2015

It is now 2015 and you know what that means... it is time to set some goals to achieve before the end of the year or to set in stone some New Years Resolutions!!!

1. Drink More Water

This year one of my main goals is to drink more water and less soda. The average person is supposed to drink 64 floz a day and I don't even drink half of that during the day. I found this very helpful app called Water Alert which allows you to set a goal of how many ounces of water you should drink a day and you log how much of it you actually drank that day.  It also will give you an alert every few hours to remind you to drink water. If that isn't enough, you can change how much ounces of water the different sizes of  glasses that you drink out of hold. I hope this will help motivate me to drink more water.

2. Eat Healthier

So I for one, am not a fan of fruits and vegetables whatsoever, but I need to at least try to eat healthier this year.  I plan on eating tons of nutrition bars, yogurt, apple sauce, protein shakes, broccoli, corn, bananas and of-course smoothies. I like minimal fruits and vegetables so I will probably be drinking tons of smoothies.
Smoothies are a good substitute for milkshakes too (they're less fattening and a lot healthier ;) )

I found an app called Smoothies with a bunch of yummy recipes for Smoothies. I also found a  recipe online for a  Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie from allrecipes.com and I made it tonight and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Here is the yummy recipe:

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 bananas
2 cups milk
1/2 Cup Peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey, or to taste
2 cups ice cubes

Directions:
1. Place bananas, milk, peanut butter, honey, and ice cubes in a blender; blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

3. Exercise more/do more physical activity

No, I don't need to lose weight or anything (except for the weight I gained over the holidays LOL), but I am a big couch potato and I need to do more physical activity this year. Staying physical active makes you not only physically healthy, but mentally and emotionally healthy. I honestly just need to become fit, it is really sad that I only can do one push up. I plan on going to the gym with my older sister as often as I can, walking my dogs when it gets warmer, going on walks and runs in the morning or evening a few times a week, doing laps at a pool at-least once a month, riding on my stationary bike everyday, and doing a work out from my new Pump Up app everyday I can and and a work out from Blogilates a few times a week also.

Pump Up is a social media app with a very supportive, inspirational, motivating community. It is basically like instagram where you have followers, but you post pictures of healthy activities and the things you eat. You also can track your weight and log the physical activities you do. Lastly, you can create a daily workout for you to do.

 4. Do yoga each and every day

I'd love to be able to do yoga at-least one time a day this year, but it would be nice to do it at the beginning and end of each day. I get stressed out and worry about the least little thing so doing yoga everyday would give me a more zen approach to life and would help me clear my mind.

I will be using this daily yoga app for my yoga routines:)

5. Get rid of my acne

Getting rid of my acne won't happen over night so I must change a few things and keep it up to get rid of my acne permanently. I need to wash my face before I go to bed and after I wake up. I also need to take my makeup off before I go to bed. And drinking lots of water will also help clean out my pores:)

6. Learn how to play my ukelele

I've had my ukelele for a whole year and I haven't learned how to play it yet..... enough said.

7. Complete the KLove 30 day challenge

This is a challenge that my radio station does every year where you listen to christian music for 30 days straight and nothing else. I am starting it today and it will end on February 2nd. I do it every year and it is a perfect way to start off the new year. It allows me to become closer to Christ, become more spirited, and it is my motivation to get through the rest of the year.

8. Do my devotionals everyday

Demi Lovato is one of my main inspirations; she has been through so much in her life and she is one of the strongest women I know. Her devotional is all about girl empowerment and loving yourself for who you are. Not only does she share one of her life experiences with you everyday, but she also gives you a task to complete. I can't wait to read her devotional this year and become a stronger individual.

I also I am doing a Christian devotional for teen girls every day. It relates some life experiences we might face as a teenage girl to the concept for the day and gives you scripture to read. This tighten my relationship with God and will broaden my understanding of my religion. It also will help me draw closer to God  by motivating me to read my Bible more often.

9. Participate in Camp Nanowrimo and Nanowrimo

Nanowrimo or National Novel Writing is where you write 50,000 words of a novel in the month of November and if you achieve the word count goal of 50,000 words by the end of the month you are declared a winner. However, last year my flash drive broke and I lost half of my novel and I didn't meet the total word count. It is my goal to conquer the word count of 50,000 words this November!!!!

Camp Nanowrimo is the same thing except it take place during the summer:)

10. Write every day

I am in Creative Writing this year at school and we have a day book that we write in, but I never write in it. My goal is to write in it everyday and to also work more on my novels I started, but never finished.

 11. Do more photography

I plan on doing more photography with my camera that I never use and also to take tons of pictures during my Senior year. I am going to college in the mountains so I am sure I will be able to take beautiful pictures there:)

 12. Update my blogs at-least once a week

I haven't updated my book blog, One Direction fandom blog, or even this blog in over a year and that is unacceptable. I plan on updating them every Saturday and if I have more time during the week I will update them more often.

13. Better my YouTube channel and upload more

I have a YouTube channel, but I only have two videos uploaded on it and the quality of them aren't that great. I want to have better editing, sound quality and light quality in my videos. I also would like to upload at-least one video a week.
I would like to get on the updating schedule as follows:

Monday:  film video
Tuesday- Thursday: Edit video
Friday: Upload Video

  14. Be more organized

I plan on organizing everything in my room; including, my closet and drawers and also my bathroom. This way I can find everything and I also need to keep it organized, and tidy throughout the whole year. I also want to organize my school work, my book bags, and my planner. If I am more organized this year I won't be so stressed out all of the time:)

15. Read at least 30 books

This is my book goal on goodreads and I hope to accomplish it this year, because I didn't last year.
